CRAIG BEFORE THE CREEK

is the charming prequel adventure to Cartoon Network staple Craig Of The Creek. I created these social assets to support its premiere across EMEA regions…

Whilst the on-air promos were focused on giving the movie a big exciting premiere, these social videos were designed to delve more into the world and the characters, notably tweaked from the original show. The big “What would you wish for?” was a chance to flex musical editing muscles, and the Pirate song clip lift is great highlight in the film, but my favourite asset is the deep lore diary short.

This was a chance to build on a key scene in the film, in which Craig learns about the magical Wishmaker from a mysterious diary hidden in his family’s new home. In an attempt to physically put our audience into the world of Craig, I arts-and-crafted a real world version of the diary for the opening of the video. I hand painted a notebook, accessorised it to match the original and set the opening cover to open with practically invisible string to work in tandem with the camera movement…

I also edited together some YouTube compilations to support the premiere; one focused on the film’s pirate villains, and several based on past episodes highlighting core cast’s finest moments.
