was the idea I worked on, to promo BBC HD Marine’s 2023 light crime strand…

As for all cruise ship based promos, we’re dealing with an audience that value comfort, convenience and assurance that all their needs will be taken care of on board. Naturally, this raised the question of if someone found a curious crime scene on board (and they’ve perhaps not brought their own detective tools on holiday with them), who would take care of it? BBC HD’s iconic cast of light crime detectives, of course, is the answer - which lead to this execution of a relaxed, professional detective service on board.

This was a great madcap-edit-vs-relaxed-voiceover exercise (props to the excellent Julie Berry, who stayed late to help us record this), but the real achievement of this project was that I got no pushback on the copy line “BBC HD - the HD stands for Hello Detective!”
