THE DOWNFALL

of the Nazis at the end of World War 2 is captured in this cinematic documentary series, which I created this promo for…

Beyond the Allies slowly enclosing around them, the programme reveals that Hitler and co’s ultimate failure lay in their own disorganisation, supreme arrogance and inability to not backstab and lie to one another. Fundamentally, idiocy is something that despots are really good at doing, so my aim with this promo was to present the steps to the Nazis’ downfall as though it’s a well-oiled plan that they foolishly set out to - and succeeded - in accomplishing. The ironic-yet-deadpan tone was a fun zone to play in, especially when paired with the pacy edit. My primary reference for this was the growing up montage scene in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur - the propulsive music and interesting cinematography was what I tried to invoke with my own promo.
